Did you know?
  • The Yasui casting machine melts the gold in a sealed environment under vacuum and Argon gas to protect the molten metal from oxidizing.
  • We offer a "Bright-White  alloy for the 18Karat white gold that does not need rhodium plating.
  • The common cause for porosity is overheated metal and old reused gold.
  • We always mix fresh gold with the Pro-Gold alloys and use no more than 20% of the button from the previous cast.
  • If you don't like our casting we will recast it or refund your money including a silicone mold and shipping charges.
  • Every platinum casting will be examined under the Laser's stereo microscope for surface density.

The Galloni Machine

For the Platinum Casting we use the Galloni machine. This machine uses an induction coil to melt the metal in the crucible and with the help of the centrifugal force will be squeezed into the flask to fill the cavity.

Here are some pictures of the machine and the spinning process.

All of our casting processes are based on "Lost Wax" technology.

For the Gold and Silver castings we use our Yasui K2 casting machine.

See Yasui's site for more details on their technology: http://www.yasui-world.com/

On the today's casting technology this machine is the most advanced, fully computerized. In the upper chamber is the Graphite crucible melting the metal with electro magnetic field generated by an induction coil. In the lower chamber we place the flask with the opening towards the top and under full vacuum.

When the preprogrammed temperature level is reached the plunger which holds the molten metal in the crucible is lifted then the metal will be pushed down into the flask by a heavy argon pressure.

Since from the beginning of the process everything is sealed, vacuumed and pressurized with a heavy argon gas , no oxidation is possible. this is another key element to achieve a superior casting.

Quick Questions related to the info in this page:

Q:What the Same Day Casting means ?

A:Same Day Casting at Best Cast means that if we receive your wax on Monday, we cast it on Monday and ship it on Monday so Tuesday morning will be on your desk. The 24 hour casting process will be shrunken to 5 hours.

Q:Is there a risk of loosing the original wax with the Same Day Process ?

A:Yes there is always a risk. Every step's time is cut to the absolute minimum to be able to invest, dry, burnout, cast, tumble, invoice, ship the piece by closing time.

Conclusion: If the piece is important to you ( hand carved wax verses an injected one) don't request Same Day Casting just to buy an extra day. Rather ask for a Same Day mold to ensure the safety of the piece against anything that might go wrong.

Q:Do you have a minimum or maximum # of pieces set for a casting order ?

A:NO we do not have minimum requirements nor maximums set. We can cast one single piece for you or 5000 pieces. We serve small retail customers and huge manufacturing companies as well.
