The T66 machine is made by Solidscape Inc. in New Hampshire. It uses a jet printing process with two jets, one for the build material and the other for the support material.

The model will be sliced up in the Modelworks program and build layers generated for the T66 machine. During the build process the machine will lay down a layer of build wax, surrounded by the support material precisely as the slice was generated by the program. After a few seconds of cooling time a rotating cutting blade will go over the printed area to shave off the extra height of wax, then the platform bed will lower 0.025mm ( this height can be controlled by the software. It is one 40th of a millimeter ) and the new layer will start to print.

After the build process the wax pattern will be dewaxed from the support material in a warm mineral oil bath, leaving only the build wax, or your exact model. It is an amazing process...

It is a very useful resource for the machine users.

The build process in action. The blue material is the CAD file and the purple is the support which will dissolve in a later process.

After the dewaxing process, ready to be cast with any casting technique in any metal of choice.

Presently we are using two T66 BT2 machines from Solidscape. Notice the cute keyboard?
